Key Benefits To Working With Purple Square

  • Technical support from a trusted marketing automation specialist
  • Reduces the need for RAPP to invest in deep technical skills on specific products
  • A flexible resource for delivery of client projects that can scale as required

Maximising the value of clients’ technology investment

RAPP provides services across a wide range of technologies, and from time to time, requires additional deep technical and delivery support for specific product sets. Purple Square first began working with RAPP in 2012 to support a Unica implementation, providing experience in delivering marketing solutions and adaptability in integrating closely and cost-effectively with in-house teams.

That initial six-month project has turned into a well-established partnership. Purple Square has since worked alongside the RAPP team to support more complex project deliveries, enabling RAPP to focus on its key value-added data and delivery programmes.

Emma Street, Head of Technology Group at RAPP, has come to regard Purple Square as “the real experts” in technologies such as Unica marketing automation software and the Acoustic Campaign digital marketing platform.

When asked why this expertise is so valuable, she says, “At RAPP, our mission is to help our clients to build out their marketing vision with personalisation at scale and one-to-one marketing virtually in real-time. Purple Square helps and advises my team, as the technical arm of RAPP, on how to make the client’s vision a reality in highly technical areas with Unica.”

Support for the RAPP development team

One of the original reasons RAPP sought a relationship with Purple Square was to benefit from having a partner committed to providing additional support and to learn and optimise its use of Unica and Acoustic Campaign.

Purple Square continues to provide ongoing support and technical services to ensure the technology platform is robust and stable and that the RAPP team feels fully supported. It’s a measure of success that seven years on from Purple Square’s original involvement, RAPP remains an active user of Unica and Acoustic Campaign.

“What I like about Purple Square is that I can pick up the phone, ask for their help and the answer is always ‘yes’.”

An extension of the team

As in the original project that launched the partnership in 2012, Purple Square continues to augment RAPP’s development team on delivery of client projects. Emma notes, “We have a small in-house team, and as our requirements for niche technical expertise fluctuate, it doesn’t always make sense to hire in these specialist skills on a permanent basis. Purple Square has the flexibility in their development resources to help us handle the peaks and troughs in our workload or to plug an interim gap.”

Being able to call on Purple Square when needed in this way neutralises potential risks in RAPP’s relationships with its clients. Emma comments, “What I like about Purple Square is that I can pick up the phone, ask for their help and the answer is always ‘yes’. They react and respond quickly, and do a good job in delivering what we need.”

Emma regards the relationship as a true business partnership: “Purple Square complements what we do, making it the ideal partnership for us. Looking to the future, we’d be happy to work even more closely together and are currently looking at ways to address joint business opportunities.”
